New Fall Make-Up Trends 2015-2016
This is a trend that is sometimes hard to translate into real life. Graphic liner might look awesome on the catwalk (and in real-life too!), but sometimes we just want something wearable. To amp up your eyeliner game, try a double wing eyeliner, or with a pop of colour.
Speaking of eyeliner, cateyes are also still going strong! And I’m very happy about that because I think that despite being such a classic everyday look, you can do so much more with it if you want to! :-)
My favourite eyeliners are L’Oréal Paris’ Super Liner Perfect Slim or H&M Beauty Colour Essence Eye Liner.
I think highlighting – or strobing if you will, is very tricky as it is sometimes hard to not look like a shiny face of glitter. But if it’s done right, it lights up your whole face – in a good way!
Dab a creamy highlighter on your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and a little bit on your chin, add a little lipgloss and get that healthy glow! My favourites? Girl Meets Pearl by Benefit Cosmetics or Magic Lumi by L’Oréal Paris.
With highlighting also comes bronzing. Bring those together, and you’ll get your basic contouring! Bronzed skin was trending this summer and I’m excited this trend is still in the make-up spotlight! I get fairly pale in winter, so I wouldn’t mind a little bronzer on my cheeks! Favourites I reach for every day: Bobbi Brown’s Bronzing Powder & Shimmer Brick in Bronze.
Bronzy eyeshadows will also still do well in fall or winter! My favourite eyeshadows are Maybelline’s Color Tattoo & Colour Essence Eye Cream from H&M Beauty.
Easy smokey eyes
Easy smokey eyes? Yes, it’s possible! I actually don’t fuss around trying to put a complicated smokey eye on. The new smokey eye is simple and with only 1 shade. My secret? Cream eyeshadow! I prefer a brown smokey eye, as this is less hard than a black smokey and so easy to do with cream eyeshadow. But whatever you prefer is good! ;-)
Put on some cream eyeshadow with your finger or brush and focus your colour on your eyelid. Then, with a brush, smudge out the outer corners to your desired shape. You can add some eyeshadow in the same colour as the cream shadow for a smokey that lasts the whole day! If you want some more intensity, pick up a darker shade than what’s on your eyelid and blend it in your crease. Et voila, your day-time smokey eye is ready! ;-)
For a brown smokey eye I like Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze. For a darker smokey eye like black, I like using a Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow by Kiko.
Autumn and winter are the perfect times of the year where you can bring out the darker lipsticks! The colours that keep coming back seem to be darker reds and plums.
My favourites at the moment are Heirloom by H&M Beauty and Rebel by MAC Cosmetics.
