Some like to apply their makeup with their fingers and others like to use tools like sponges or brushes. Personally, I like to use my egg shaped sponge and my brushes to apply my makeup. I guess some people would shake their heads while glancing at all the brushes I have… But I swear they all have their purpose! ;)
Any beauty addict will tell you to invest in your makeup brushes. This is something you use every day. Besides high pigmented eyeshadow, it’s the best beauty investment I can think of. Look for the quality difference between labels. I prefer high quality brushes: it’s just that they help you achieve that flawless look more effortless!
My Makeup Brushes
My brush stash contains mostly of Real Techniques, so to keep it simple I’ll write down the brand if it’s not from Real Techniques ;)
Foundation
From left to right:
Powder brush // Buffing brush // Stippling brush
MAC 187 Duo Fibre Face brush // Miracle Complexion Sponge
My favourite foundation brush is the Real Techniques Buffing brush. Whatever brush I used to apply my foundation with, I’ll always use this one as a last step to make sure my foundation is buffed in well.
Concealer
From left to right:
MAC 188 Small Duo Fibre brush // Pointed Foundation brush // Detailer brush
For concealer, I honestly can’t choose between my two favourites: the MAC 188 and the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease brush. The latter is actually an eyeshadow brush, but it blends my concealer really well on those tough-to-reach places and buffs it in more than the MAC 188.
Blush and Contour
From left to right:
Contour brush // Blush brush
KIKO Face 109 // & Other Stories Blusher brush // Clinique Blush brush
I’m staying in the Real Techniques brush family for my favourites! I probably reach for their Blush brush the most, but the & Other Stories is my second favourite option.
I switch between the Blush brush and the KIKO Face 109, depending on what type of product I use.
Eyes and Brows
From left to right:
Deluxe Crease brush // Base Shadow brush // Accent brush // MUD 350
Fine liner brush // Brow brush // MAC 219 // HEMA Eyebrow brush
I can’t live without my Base Shadow and Deluxe Crease brush as they do practically all of the hard work for me!
My eyebrows are daily groomed with the Eyebrow brush from HEMA and I use the Brow brush if I want a little definition by shaping them with brow powder.
Lips
Retractable lip brush
I don’t use my lip brushes as much because I usually put my lipstick on straight from the tube. But when I’m wearing red, I always fill them in with a brush.

What are your favourite makeup brushes? Do you stick with one or two labels, or just mix and match?

My favorite brushes of yours would have to be the Clinique ones with the clear handles. There’s something really yummy (I know it’s funny to use that word but that’s what I mean!) and appealing about them. Maybe Chic or cool is the word I’m looking for. Love the display of the brushes in the sand. Very neat.
Hi Nikki, thanks for your comment! The clear handles do look really pretty don’t they? Very chic & minimalistic! ;)
