After an earlier relaunch of the Healthy Mix foundation and concealer, Bourjois now introduces three new products for the Healthy Mix routine!
The new primer, BB Cream and powder have a cocktail of vitamins in them to give you a radiant and fresh complexion. How about some vitamin A, B5, C and E to add to your little make-up routine? I’ve worn the three new Healthy Mix products for about two weeks now, so I think I’m ready to tell you all about them!
This Bourjois review includes products that were sent to me by a brand or company. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are honest and are all my own. Please read my disclaimer.
Let’s start with the primer. I have to be honest and tell you that to be fair, I very rarely wear primer. It feels like an extra step I’m not ready to take at 04:00 in the morning when I’m getting ready for work. Often my thoughts on primer are “Eww, silicones” so I usually stay away from them. But of course I wanted to try it out. I wouldn’t be a good beauty blogger otherwise, would I? ;-)
Healthy Mix Primer:
The primer promises to work anti-fatigue and blurring on your skin. It should brighten your face and should leave you with a ‘soft focus’ effect. My first thoughts while putting on the primer? The very first seconds of applying the fresh and fruity scent (and the slightest chemical hint) comes forward – but just for a few seconds. From the moment it sinks into your face, the scent is gone. The Healthy Mix primer feels non-sticky and non-siliconey. And although you can find silicones in it, to me it has the perfect texture. So extra points for that! It feels more like putting on a very light daycream, do you get what I mean? It has in no way the silicone texture that I hate. Maybe this will finally be a primer that I’ll like? #score
And there is so much to like with this product! Not only does it contain vitamin A, B5 and C, but it also does have some effect on my face. I look more awake and bright and that’s just the primer doing it’s fancy little job. Wait until you’ve seen the BB cream! You can also use this primer without anything else, so if you’re having a good skin day or just don’t feel like wearing foundation… It’s certainly an option.
Healthy Mix BB Cream:
Wearing a BB cream for a full week has definitely made me appreciate my skin more. Although my skincare is also a big part of it, I’m blessed with good skin. I could easily go around with just the Healthy Mix primer and some strategically placed concealer. But I had forgotten how easy and genuinely nice it can feel putting on a light BB cream and be (almost) done! This is exactly how the Healthy Mix BB Cream makes me feel.
First of all, it gives a beautiful and youthful glow. It covers small imperfections and the light formula gives my face a soft and fresh look. Personally I feel that the Healthy Mix stays on long for a BB Cream – and it fades nicely too. You don’t get the feeling that after several hours your left cheek suddenly looks bare or uneven. That’s maybe what I like best about a BB Cream. With a little powder touch-up it looks fresh again, especially with the Healthy Mix Powder – but I’ll get to that in a second.
Furthermore the BB Cream contains vitamin A, B5, C and E. Just like all the other products in the Healthy Mix line, it’s filled with vitamins that will work in the long term to make your skin look better. Personally I don’t believe it could be as effective as proper skincare but hey, every little thing helps!
The BB Cream comes in three colours: #01 Light, #02 Medium and #03 Dark. Check out the swatches below:
Healthy Mix Powder:
And last but not least, the finishing touch to your Healthy Mix look: the powder! This gives your BB Cream a matte look and an even skintone without making your complexion look flat. I love using powder because my T-zone often gets a bit shiny during the day.
It’s a very fine pressed and soft powder that unlike others doesn’t dry out my skin – or looks dry on my skin for that matter. Maybe the vitamin B5, C and E have something to do with that?
And here’s a little surprise if you’re just too eager to try it out that you forget to inspect the whole packaging like me… It has a sponge and mirror concealed inside. Perfect to take with you on the go for a little touch-up!
There’s 4 colours to choose from: #01 Vanilla, #02 Light Beige, #03 Dark Beige, #04 Light Bronze.
My #HealthyMix look:
For my Healthy mix look I’m wearing everything Bourjois! I have the primer, BB cream and powder on with a swipe of the Rouge Edition Velvet in 18 It’s redding men! For my blush I chose a light dusting of 54 Rose Frisson on the apples of my cheeks. The last touch goes to the Eye-Catching mascara. Et voila! Fresh-faced and I’m ready to go. What do you think?
