Anti-Fatigue Skincare ▸ Nivea

8 september 2017

This NIVEA anti-fatigue product review includes products that are sent to me by a brand or company. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are honest and are all my own. Please read my disclaimer.

I’m turning 25 next month (omg!) so it’s safe to say I can officially start with anti-aging skincare, haha! (please take this with a grain of salt) NIVEA already has their Q10 range for more mature skin, but now there’s a complete skincare ritual for women between 25-39 years old. A tired and dull skin appearance is common in this age; we bust our butts each and every day working on our career, meeting with friends and family and trying to keep everything in balance. Our days are long and our nights are short. There is a loss of energy that sadly starts around the age of 25 – your skin already produces less collagen than before. But enough with that depressing thought ;) NIVEA has just the thing you need: an energy boost for your face!

NIVEA has three products in this anti-fatigue skincare line: a day cream, a night cream and an eye cream. We’re starting with the day cream, pictured here below. The day cream contains vitamin C, Q10 and Creatine. It’s a light, almost whipped texture that applies very pleasantly. The scent is very neutral, the only thing you smell is a sliver of orange – probably originating from the vitamine C.

UVA and UVB light is also one of the factors that you need to watch out for. It damages and prematurely ages your skin. NIVEA has your back: this anti-fatigue day cream also has a SPF 15 hidden in there!

I’m a disaster with eye cream. I hardly ever use it because… Well, I’m just lazy and put daydream on it instead :p And yet, the skin around your eyes is only 0,5 mm so it definitely deserves some extra care!

Lightly tap in the eye cream with your ring finger  around your eyes (not too close!) and from the inner corner outwards. This eye contour cream strengthens this delicate part of your face and gives an éclat or glow.

Despite the fact that I’m not an avid eye cream user, I do like using this one! It’s very soft and rubs in beautifully.

On a side note – be careful with the screw cap of the eye cream, it comes loose quickly. I brought it with me on an airplane and the cap had accidentally released, leaving my plastic bag dirty with the cream. A lot of the precious anti-fatigue magic wasted – a bit of a shame! :(

Night Time: Q10plusC ANTI-WRINKLE + ENERGY

Let’s meet with the star of this anti-fatigue line: the night cream!

Did you know your cell renewal is at its best at night? This is also one of the reasons why you should thoroughly cleanse before going to bed! All those good things you’re going to put on your face before your beauty sleep will be absorbed way better if your skin is squeaky clean. (Don’t get me wrong. Don’t strip your face completely of its natural oils – use a gentle cleanser but make sure every bit of make-up and other creams you’ve used that morning or during the day is gone!)

Anyway, after you’ve cleansed your face it’s time for your night cream. The Q10 and vitamin C gives your skin a breather after a long and intense day. The night cream feels a little heavy when you put it on, but to be honest it sinks in quite quickly. This is really nice and something very important to me, since I don’t like sticky night creams. All they seem to do is lay on your skin forever and eventually get soaked up in your pillows instead of your face… #ugh. But that’s not the case with this NIVEA night cream! Waking up with a glow has never been easier.

Hi Liezel! :-) I’m really glad to hear this has helped your skin feel better in the Belgian winter ;-) I was also really surprised with these Nivea products. It’s not a brand I usually look at for skincare but like you said, you never know until you try! :D It’s a really nice budget friendly option too.

And thank you for your sweet comment! It really warms my heart to know you like the blog! <3
